Check the actual license

Pool resurfacing and construction work in Florida requires a real contractor license (state DBPR and, depending on your county, a local contractor license too) — not just general liability insurance. Ask for the license number directly and verify it, the same way you'd expect to see ours (FL DBPR License #RP0024455, Broward County Contractor License) listed anywhere we quote work.

Ask about commercial experience specifically

Resurfacing a backyard pool and resurfacing a 200-unit condo association's amenity pool involve different scheduling, bather-load, and ADA considerations. Ask for commercial references, not just residential ones.

Ask how many startup visits are included

The finish going on correctly is only half the job — the chemical-balance startup period after refill matters just as much for how long it actually lasts. Ask specifically how many chemistry-monitoring visits are included in the weeks after startup, not just whether "startup" is included as a line item. A single visit and a walk-away is a materially different service than ongoing monitoring through the stabilization period.

Get the warranty in writing — both warranties

There are two separate warranties on a resurfacing job: the finish manufacturer's material warranty, and the contractor's workmanship warranty on installation. Ask how they'll handle your property's downtime
